Planting & Care

1. Planting: Start by finding an area with full sun (6 to 8 hours of sunlight) and well-drained soil or select a container with drainage holes for planting your Devils Trumpet.

Once youve selected a location (or your container, which should be twice the size of your plants shipped container), dig a hole thats around twice the size of your plants root ball and just as deep. Then, place the plant, tamp down the soil and water to settle the roots.

Note: All parts of the Devils Trumpet are poisonous if ingested, so avoid ingesting and keep pets and children away from your plant.

2. Watering: Generally, you should check your soil about 2 to 3 inches down for dryness. If the soil around your Devils Trumpet is dry, water the plant. Watering about once or twice weekly is a good rule of thumb until your plant is established. The Devils Trumpet is moderately drought tolerant, but its important to ensure it stays hydrated!

3. Fertilizing: Feed your plant with a general-purpose fertilizer before new growth begins, in the late spring or early summer.

4. Pruning: You may prune your Devils Trumpet in the fall for shaping after its flowers have faded.
